About the role

We are looking for someone with a strong engineering background who enjoys building high-quality products used by millions. As a backend engineer at Wooga, you'll enjoy autonomy in decision-making and ensure smooth system operations. Our team values diverse engineering backgrounds and supports individual learning styles. We prioritize fast learning, mutual support, and adaptability to changing requirements. With expertise in high traffic APIs, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure: we serve tens of thousands of requests per second and make sure our game teams can count on us to build and run the services they need.

• Manage, extend and improve our infrastructure together with our infrastructure experts
• Work mainly with AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform
• Support other backend engineers in working with our infrastructure
• Extend and maintain our CI/CD pipelines and dev tooling
• Ensure stability and resilience of our infrastructure services
• Take part in our team on-call rotation every few weeks (after an extensive onboarding period)

About you

• You have several years of experience as a backend engineer with focus on infrastructure, or worked in a cloud infrastructure / SRE / DevOps role
• You are a team player and value collaboration
• You are comfortable working with kubernetes and the cloud native ecosystem
• You know your way around complex infrastructure and know how to work with distributed systems
• You are not afraid to touch code. Our services are written mostly in Elixir but we don’t expect prior knowledge

• Kubernetes, Containers, Helm
• Networking
• Terraform
• GitOps, CI/CD, FluxCD, Flagger
• Observability tools (Datadog, OpenTelemetry)
• Security principles and tools
• Scripting languages, eg. bash
• Postgres, Redis, DynamoDB, Aerospike, Apache Kafka
• Elixir, Erlang, Ruby
