Position: Linux Administrator
Type: Long-term contract
Location: Linthicum, MD (2 days Onsite in a week)

Key Responsibilities:
- Administer, configure, and maintain Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, or SUSE) in physical and virtual environments.
- Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning to ensure optimal server performance.
- Implement and manage automation using Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Manage system upgrades, patches, and kernel updates with minimal downtime.
- Ensure system security through access controls, vulnerability management, and compliance with organizational policies.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and provide root-cause analysis.
- Develop and maintain shell scripts and automation tools to streamline system operations.
- Collaborate with DevOps, Cloud, and Network teams to support CI/CD pipelines and hybrid environments.
- Manage storage solutions, file systems, and backup/recovery processes.
- Document configurations, standard operating procedures, and best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 10+ years of hands-on experience as a Linux Administrator or Systems Engineer.
- Expert knowledge of RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu/SUSE operating systems.
- Strong experience with scripting languages (Bash, Python, or Perl).
- Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, KVM) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, SaltStack).
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and firewalls.
- Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and hybrid environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead infrastructure projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as RHCE, RHCSA, Linux+, or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and enterprise change management processes.
