About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Advanced Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing robust backend solutions across multiple projects. Your expertise in Python and/or Node.js will be instrumental in creating high-performing, secure, and scalable backend applications that meet our clients' diverse needs. You will collaborate closely with technical leads, product managers, and cross-functional teams to gather requirements, make architectural decisions, and ensure seamless integration of backend systems. Your contributions will directly influence the quality and reliability of our solutions, helping Loka maintain its reputation as a leader in innovative technology consulting. Qualifications
- Minimum of 3+ years of backend development experience
- Proficiency in Python or Node.js (Typescript preferred)
- Strong computer science fundamentals
- Experience with API and web communication protocols (OpenAPI, gRPC, etc.)
- Understanding of concurrency concepts in APIs and web applications
- Knowledge of cloud services and architecture (public cloud providers, serverless, traditional)
- Experience working with containerization and container-first approaches
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Effective communication skills in English
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement backend components including APIs, serverless functions, distributed services, queue systems, and data storage solutions
- Make architectural decisions considering performance, security, and external constraints
- Implement security best practices and ensure data protection across systems
- Maintain and enhance code quality through effective testing, documentation, and code reviews
- Collaborate with technical leads and clients to gather requirements, align expectations, and provide project updates
- Stay current with industry trends and incorporate emerging techniques and tools into projects
- Work cross-functionally with teams such as Machine Learning and Data Engineering for seamless integration
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and projects, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the backend team
