Our global financial trading client seeks an experienced Lead Reference Data Engineer. In this high-impact role, you'll be responsible for building and maintaining the systems that power trading strategies. You will design, develop, and manage the critical pipelines that ensure the quantitative researchers and traders have access to the accurate, timely, and complete reference data they need to make split-second decisions
Responsibilities:
- Design and build robust, scalable reference data systems from the ground up, ensuring high data quality and low latency.
- Mentor and guide a small team of engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration
- Ingest and manage diverse datasets from various external sources, including market data vendors, exchanges, and internal systems
- Automate data ingestion, transformation, and delivery processes to ensure the integrity and reliability of our data
Requirements:
- Deep expertise in Python/C# and a strong command of relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
- A proven track record of solving challenging data problems and building mission-critical data systems
- Past team leadership experience
- Experience in finance or with financial data (e.g., corporate actions, instrument symbology, historical data) is a significant plus
