Cybersecurity Engineer – AI Security / Application Security (US-Based, Remote)
Our client, an innovative early-stage technology startup, is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to help shape and scale their go-to-market (GTM) security strategy. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing company at the intersection of AI and cybersecurity—working directly with founders and product teams to build secure, resilient systems from the ground up.
The ideal candidate will have a solid technical foundation in cybersecurity and a strong understanding of modern startup environments. Experience with go-to-market security readiness, secure product design, and cross-functional collaboration in fast-moving tech companies is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain security measures to protect infrastructure, applications, and data.
- Support GTM readiness by ensuring product and platform security align with compliance and customer requirements.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and code reviews to identify and remediate security gaps.
- Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and product teams to embed security best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
- Monitor, investigate, and respond to security incidents and emerging threats.
- Contribute to documentation, security playbooks, and awareness training across teams.
- Evaluate and implement new tools and technologies to enhance the company’s security posture.
Required Experience & Skills:
- 3+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity, information security, or related technical fields.
- Strong understanding of network security, cloud infrastructure, and application security principles.
- Familiarity with AI security, or data protection frameworks is a plus (not required).
- Hands-on experience with common security tools and practices (SIEM, IAM, SAST/DAST, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally in a startup environment.
- US-based; fully remote role with flexible hours.
