Full-Stack Software Engineer (San Francisco On Site)

Valshift is partnering with a fast-growing U.S. technology company to recruit an experienced Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join their in-person team in San Francisco (Hayes Valley).

This is a high-impact, full-time position offering competitive compensation, equity participation, and the opportunity to work on cutting-edge automation and AI-driven products.

Location: San Francisco, CA – On-site, 5 days per week

Compensation: $180K–$220K base + equity

Sponsorship: Visa & Green Card support available

Relocation: Covered for candidates outside the Bay Area

Role Overview

The selected engineer will play a leading role in building and scaling modern, high-performance software systems.

You will work across the entire stack from backend architecture and data models to frontend experience and performance, collaborating closely with product and design to deliver outstanding results.

• Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and maintain robust, scalable services and APIs.
• Build intuitive, high-quality interfaces using modern frontend frameworks.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver product features end-to-end.
• Optimize system performance, security, and reliability.
• Apply AI and data-driven automation to improve workflows and product intelligence.
• Contribute to technical strategy, architectural decisions, and best practices.

• Technical EnvironmentFrontend: React, TypeScript, Next.js, Tailwind, Apollo GraphQL
• Backend: Python (AI orchestration), C# (.NET 9, EF Core)
• Database: PostgreSQL (including vector search)
• Infrastructure: Google Cloud, Temporal, GitHub, Linear, Notion, Slack

• Ideal Candidate Profile5–12 years of experience in full-stack or backend-focused engineering roles.
• Strong proficiency in both frontend technologies (React or similar) and backend systems (APIs, data models, and architecture).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; thrives in a fast-paced, on-site environment.
• Demonstrated ownership of projects from conception to deployment.
• Bonus: experience with GraphQL at scale, AI/agent orchestration, Temporal, or Postgres performance optimization.
