About The Role
We are seeking a full-time mid to senior-level DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team supporting multiple public-facing web applications. This fully remote position offers an excellent opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud technologies and modern DevOps practices. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining secure, scalable, and highly available web server environments across both on-premises infrastructure and AWS cloud platforms. You will collaborate closely with development teams to optimize deployment pipelines, enhance system performance, and ensure compliance with security standards such as FedRAMP. The role requires a proactive approach to system monitoring, troubleshooting, and implementing disaster recovery solutions, ensuring the seamless operation of critical web applications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in DevOps, Systems Administration, or related roles.
- Extensive experience with both on-premises and AWS cloud environments.
- Proficiency with Docker containerization and orchestration.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) management.
- Knowledge of CloudFront or similar CDN services for content delivery.
- Experience configuring and managing Apache and Nginx web servers.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub and Bamboo.
- Strong understanding of SQL-based database administration, performance tuning, and scalable database solutions.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain web servers in both on-premises and AWS cloud environments to ensure high availability and security.
- Manage production server uptime, performance metrics, and security protocols.
- Provision and configure development and testing environments to support agile development cycles.
- Implement and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline deployment processes.
- Ensure all systems and applications comply with government security standards, including FedRAMP requirements.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize deployment processes, system architecture, and infrastructure scalability.
- Monitor system performance, conduct proactive maintenance, and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
- Manage containerized applications using Docker, including orchestration and deployment strategies.
- Design and implement backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans to safeguard critical systems.
- Utilize Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform to automate infrastructure provisioning and management.
- Navigate complex organizational approval processes for infrastructure changes, ensuring compliance and security.
- Serve as a technical liaison between development teams, management, and IT security departments.
- Oversee deployment activities and monitor application quality assurance processes.
- Act as a technical backup for senior developers, providing support and guidance as needed.
