Job Title: Data Engineer

Location: Onsite St. Louis, MO or Mt. Sterling, IL (Must relocate to St. Louis before Day 1 relocation at own expense)

Term: 1+ Year Contract (Possible Conversion after 6 Months)

Role Overview

Dot Foods is seeking a Data Engineer who is analytical, detail-oriented, and enjoys solving complex data challenges. This role involves designing, testing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines to support advanced analytics and business intelligence initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, eager to grow long-term with the company.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines for analytics and reporting

Automate data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT) processes from diverse sources such as APIs, databases, and legacy systems

Build and optimize Snowflake Data Warehouses ensuring security, performance, and governance

Develop and maintain Python-based automation scripts and integration workflows

Collaborate with business and IT teams to improve data accessibility and system efficiency

Support machine learning/AI data pipelines and cloud-based data operations

Apply Lean and Agile methodologies to continuously improve data engineering processes

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field

3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer (SQL, Data Warehousing, Analytics)

1+ year of hands-on experience with Snowflake

3+ years of experience with Python

1+ year of experience with Azure or other cloud platforms (AWS/GCP)

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with fluent, professional English

Must be willing to relocate to St. Louis, MO and work onsite

Preferred Skills

Experience with IBM Cloud, DataStage, DB2, watsonX.ai, or Supply Chain systems

Snowflake Data Engineer Certification is a plus

Strong project planning and documentation skills

Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
