Job Description
The INDUS Global Mobility Senior Associate will be part of the INDUS Immigration and Mobility team and work closely with the U.S. Mobility Senior/Manager on executing International Assignment and INDUS Assignment Program. The role will coordinate/communicate with the People & Culture operational and functional areas (HR Operations, National Talent Acquisition, Strategic Learning, Employee Relations, HR Delivery, and Diversity & Inclusion), firm leaders, embedded HR business partners and generalists, talent acquisition, legal and relocating employee and new hires in delivering distinctive service in global and domestic relocation.
The INDUS Senior Associate – Global Mobility will execute the U.S. firm’s global mobility programs across all areas of global and domestic relocation including strategic assignment planning and forecasting, the assignment approval process, coordination of assignment execution including compensation, relocation, benefits, taxes, expense management, and immigration, support during an assignment and repatriation. This position interacts and partners with HR business partners, finance, tax, employees and partners of the firm, and the firm’s external vendors.
The role will be an integral part of the mobility team to develop and deliver the full lifecycle of mobility services including assignment planning, facilitation, and project-based support demonstrating flexibility, adaptability and initiative.
Core Responsibilities
Assignment and Relocation Management
- Lead planning, preparations, and execution of international and domestic assignments leveraging standardized policies, processes, and the firm’s mobility vendors and resources
- Oversee the development and maintenance of mobility overview documentation, including firm website resources for relocating employees, leaders, and the HR business partners that support them
- Develop, refine and maintain mobility process flow and protocol documentation to ensure compliance and remarkable service delivery
- Oversee the expression of interest process, coordinating with the Global Client Services team to vet all interest in international assignments, gathering required information and documentation for consideration, tracking and maintaining the global recruitment candidate pipeline
- Support complex moves for our Partners and Principals, domestically and internationally
- Initiate provision of domestic relocation services internally and with third-party vendors, coordinate with HR and recruiting professionals to follow company policy
- Oversee the execution of the cost estimate and relocation/assignment approval process utilizing the resources of the relocation management company
- Oversee preparation and maintenance of program activity tracking and reporting including metrics and trends
- Monitor overall assignment activity, assignment status and support through the assignment lifecycle
- Prepare and advise around cost management strategies, cost projections and related assignment and relocation documentation
- Support the business, HR and recruiting in administering the domestic relocation program for new hires, including permanent international transfers, as well as domestic assignments
- Advise HR, recruiting, business partners, and new hires/employees on policy and protocol for global and domestic assignments and relocations
- Facilitate and/or coordinate mobility processes such as cost estimates, letters of understanding, assignment agreements, immigration, mobility compensation reporting/tracking, and mobility payment distribution
- Ensure that appropriate approvals are secured for all international and domestic relocation matters, and ensure that leaders are appropriately briefed on all matters
- Oversee exception process, including exception review, securing approvals and monitoring for future policy change proposals
- Provide international assignees with services to coordinate visas, benefits, housing and compensation
- packages, payroll and tax, where appropriate; and identify other support needed for a diverse mobile workforce
- Serve as the point of contact for cross-border matters that involve potential immigration–mobility (international assignment) consideration
- Coordinate calls with the appropriate internal and external parties to evaluate potential international assignment opportunities, including corporate and international tax, employment and immigration legal, and finance
- Conducting or coordinating pre-move/pre-assignment orientation and policy meetings with new hires, employees, and assignees
- Support compensation and HR teams with the Year End performance, compensation and rewards review
- Manage escalation of issues and exceptions
- Assist Global Mobility leader in creating and managing the budget and forecasting
- Oversee the assignment extension process in line with firm protocols, including cost estimate preparation, business case preparation, immigration vetting, coordination with service line leaders and embedded HR on the required data points, and securing approvals
- Oversee localization process, conversion from short-term/long-term assignee to full-time hire, including gathering business cases, assessing immigration risk, securing member firm and U.S. firm support, and providing a cost estimate
- Conduct assignment experience surveys, analyzing feedback and summarizing results
- Analyze and prepare high-level summaries of program activity
- Keep current on market trends, business challenges, and priorities by regularly gathering competitive market data, and driving program policy changes, as needed
Business Partnership
- Collaborate with HR business partners on the alignment of global assignments with career development and succession planning opportunities to support the objectives of the business
- Assist in the development and delivery of training for the HR community on mobility policies and procedures
Qualifications (Personal Characteristics, Skills/Abilities, Academic)
The ideal candidate will be:
- A business-minded HR/Talent professional with at least 3 to 5 years of corporate experience in Global Mobility programs including expatriate and relocation management
- Strong understanding of the entire relocation and assignment life cycle for international assignees
- Knowledge and experience with international cost of living allowances, and country to country cost sharing arrangements
- Highly detailed oriented, data driven, and metrics-focused with the ability to use analytics to solve problems and develop solutions
- Experience working with and managing relocation vendor relationships
- A strong team player with the ability to build good relationships with key stakeholders
- Credible, adaptable, and someone who demonstrates strong initiative and ownership
- Experienced in prioritization with demonstrated ability to be effective in supporting multiple leaders/partners working across different service lines
- Collaborative and action-oriented, with the ability to react positively and quickly to sudden and unpredictable change
- Experienced with HR and business technologies and applications, applying them as required
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- 4-5 years of experience in mobility programs, international assignments, and relocation management.
- Proven ability to consistently and positively contribute in a high-paced environment.

- Strong verbal and written communication, and presentation skills
- Solid analytical skills, and proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
