About the Role
We are seeking Server Operations Engineers at multiple levels (Junior, Mid, and Principal) to join our growing team. As an SOE, you will play a vital role in large-scale server infrastructure operations - whether you are just starting your career or ready to lead, there is an opportunity to develop and demonstrate your expertise in a collaborative, high-impact environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Plan server layouts and ensure accurate mounting and provisioning at scale.
- Lead OS installation/reinstallation efforts, resolve system anomalies.
- Oversee server maintenance, hardware diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Manage internal data systems: assets, RMAs, ticketing, racks, and server metadata.
- Coordinate remote vendors and internal teams to resolve hardware batch issues.
- Drive secure decommissioning and relocation processes (drive erasure, reconfiguration).
- Retrofit and build automation tools via scripting (Shell/Python).
- Oversee end-to-end server lifecycle management.
- Mentor and delegate tasks to team members; lead training and cross-skilling efforts.
- Standardize documentation and process templates across the team.
- Handle on-call escalations and remove operational blockers.
- Track shift coverage, review workload distribution, and host team meetings.
- Approve and process OT, leave requests, and performance evaluations.
Requirements
Junior (L1)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 0-2 years of experience in server operations, infrastructure, or data center environments.
- Familiarity with Linux systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Basic scripting experience (Shell/Python) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
Mid-level (L2)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in server operations, infrastructure, or data center environments.
- Proficient in Linux systems, hardware troubleshooting, and OS installations.
- Hands-on scripting/automation experience (Shell/Python).
- Understanding of networking basics (TCP/IP, VLANs, Subnetting, DNS).
- Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, GitLab).
- Ability to work independently and mentor junior engineers.
Principal (L3)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in server operations, infrastructure, or data center environments.
- Expertise in Linux systems, hardware diagnostics, and large-scale OS deployment (PXE boot).
- Advanced scripting/automation experience (Shell, Python); able to develop internal tooling.
- Deep understanding of networking, IPMI, NCSI, and lights-out server management.
- Proven leadership in team/process management, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Excellent communication skills in English (Mandarin a plus).
