About The Role
As a Marketing Data Scientist at Confluent, you will play a crucial role in analyzing and optimizing our marketing efforts to drive growth and efficiency. Your primary focus will be on evaluating lead funnel performance, marketing measurement, and pipeline management. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Growth, Sales, and Finance to uncover insights that inform strategic decision-making. Your expertise in data exploration, statistical analysis, and visualization will help identify opportunities for improvement in top-of-funnel conversion metrics and overall marketing effectiveness. This role offers the chance to influence high-level marketing strategies through data-driven insights, supporting the company's growth objectives in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in Data Science supporting marketing functions, preferably within a B2B SaaS environment
- Strong proficiency in SQL (3+ years of experience) for data manipulation and querying
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or R for data analysis and modeling
- Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau to create dashboards and reports
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with marketing attribution models across channels such as SEO, Paid Search, and Social Media
- Knowledge of A/B testing frameworks and methodologies
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in computer science, engineering, statistics, economics, or a related quantitative discipline
Responsibilities
- Identify high-impact opportunities through comprehensive data exploration and analysis
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to generate strategic insights aimed at improving top-of-funnel conversion metrics
- Define and develop scalable marketing metrics and dashboards to monitor pipeline health and performance
- Analyze key performance indicators such as ROI, Customer Lifetime Value (CLTV), and other relevant metrics to uncover growth opportunities
- Share actionable insights and strategic recommendations with leadership to influence marketing campaigns and pipeline strategies
- Design, execute, and analyze A/B tests to evaluate the impact of product features and marketing initiatives
- Deepen understanding of the customer journey from awareness to conversion, providing insights to optimize each phase
- Work collaboratively with other data scientists and teams to share best practices and promote a data-centric decision-making culture
