The Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State is an integral part of one of the leading research universities in the nation and serves as a University center of excellence in defense science, systems, and technologies with a focus in naval missions and related areas. We are looking for experienced Electrical (ECAD) Designers and Technologists, as well as ECAD Supervisors, to join us at our State College, PA, location. The Mechanical and Electrical Design (MEDD) team works in collaboration with the ARL Research Offices to create CAD based Mechanical and Electrical Designs, including drawing compliance and design configuration management support. The working environment for this role is fully on-site to start; however, options may exist for hybrid work from home/in office scenarios, dependent upon research needs. Not local? You will be responsible for facilitating electrical design support, such as creating schematics, printed wiring boards, circuit card assemblies, bills of materials, and other documentation. In a supervisor capacity, you will also guide and mentor team members, offering your insight and assisting their career goals with coaching conversations.
