About The Role
We are seeking an experienced PHP Architect / Lead Developer to join our dynamic and agile technology team on a 6-month contract basis, with the potential for extension. This role is fully remote, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work from anywhere. As a key member of our development team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the architecture of our platforms, which include advanced e-learning solutions and integrated office logistics systems hosted on AWS. Your expertise will help enhance and maintain our existing systems while driving the development of innovative features that meet business and user needs.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PHP development, with proven experience in designing scalable, high-performance applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior developers, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes. This role offers a unique chance to work with modern frameworks such as Symfony and Laravel, while leveraging cloud-native architectures and CI/CD practices to deliver robust solutions.
Qualifications
The successful candidate should possess a solid foundation in PHP development, with extensive experience in object-oriented programming and adherence to SOLID principles. Proven expertise with PHP frameworks like Symfony and Laravel, along with custom MVC solutions, is essential. Strong architectural skills for designing scalable and maintainable applications are required, as well as proficiency in relational database design and optimization, particularly with MySQL. Candidates should be familiar with Git workflows, REST API integrations, and the LAMP stack. Additionally, a good understanding of front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, and DOM manipulation is beneficial. Experience with Docker containerization, unit testing, and functional testing is also preferred. A proactive approach to problem-solving, critical thinking, and excellent communication skills are key attributes for this role.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications, e-learning portals, and web services using PHP and modern frameworks.
- Implement solid software design patterns and follow industry best practices to ensure code quality and maintainability.
- Architect and optimize database schemas, craft efficient SQL queries, and ensure high performance of data-driven applications.
- Translate complex business requirements into scalable, reliable technical solutions that align with organizational goals.
- Build and maintain reporting tools for clients and management to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
- Contribute to the evolution of developer tools, CI/CD pipelines, and AWS-based cloud architectures to streamline deployment and scalability.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior developers, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
- Support a global user base by ensuring the delivery of high-quality, well-documented, and reliable code.
