About Us
Fenchel Family Law PC is a modern, fully remote boutique redefining what “white-glove” family law looks like in the San Francisco Bay Area.
We represent high-net-worth clients navigating complex divorce, custody, and financial matters—with discretion, empathy, and operational excellence.
We’re entering a new growth phase and seeking a Director of People & Operations to serve as the firm’s Integrator under the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS).
This is a senior leadership role that bridges vision and execution—ensuring strategy, systems, and people all move in alignment.
⸻
The Role
You’ll run the internal engine of the firm. You’ll ensure recruiting, onboarding, performance, HR, and operations function seamlessly across a fully remote team.
You’ll translate firm vision into metrics, accountability, and structure—and give the founder back time to lead, grow, and innovate.
⸻
You Will:
People Leadership
• Lead all recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
• Draft offer letters, update job descriptions, and manage compensation alignment.
• Oversee partner-track metrics, communications, and advancement reporting.
• Manage quarterly and annual performance reviews with clear, data-driven criteria.
• Build a professional development program (MCLE, leadership training, etc.).
Operations & Accountability
• Oversee billable-hour tracking, utilization reporting, and team KPIs.
• Manage cross-department systems (Clio, Slack, Box, payroll, benefits, HRIS).
• Maintain vendor relationships (HR service, CFO, marketing, IT).
• Run weekly Level 10 (L10) meetings and quarterly planning per EOS.
• Track and report on firm performance—efficiency, revenue, utilization, and culture metrics.
Culture & Communication
• Plan company retreats, team-building events, and recognition programs.
• Manage internal communications and updates firm-wide.
• Reinforce firm values and ensure the “white-glove” standard applies internally as well as to clients.
⸻
You Bring:
• Experience: 7–12 years in operations, HR, or executive management within a family law firm or other professional-services environment (required).
• Leadership: Proven record leading small to mid-sized teams (10–30 people) and managing department heads.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, JD, or HR certification (PHR/SPHR) preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with Clio Manage/Grow, Slack, Google Workspace, payroll/HRIS platforms.
• Knowledge: California employment law, HR compliance, and law firm business operations.
• Core Competencies:
• Systems builder and process optimizer.
• Emotionally intelligent communicator.
• Data-literate and financially aware.
• Calm, structured, and discreet under pressure.
• Comfortable holding senior leadership accountable.
⸻
Why Join Us
• Join a firm leading the evolution of modern family law—remote, elite, human.
• Work directly with the founder as her operational counterpart.
• Competitive compensation with performance-based bonuses.
• True leadership autonomy and a voice in long-term strategy.
• Opportunity to shape the operational blueprint for one of the Bay Area’s most respected boutique law firms.
⸻
Compensation
Base salary range $115,000–$135,000, depending on experience and leadership scope, with performance-based incentives and growth opportunity.
