Job Description
The Aviation Solutions Division of BAE Systems, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced and qualified candidate to join the project team supporting aircraft communication related tasking at both Patuxent River NAS and Webster Outlying Field. The Systems Engineer is responsible for the design and integration of complex systems used to modernize or upgrade existing configurations. Responsible for the functionality and compatibility of systems in both test and live environments. Will be involved in new and modification mechanical architecture design and development throughout the lifecycle of the project. Will work with document control and design to provide fabrication, installation, and removal drawing packages for customer delivery. Candidate must have knowledge of project management or experience working directly with a project manager, as responsibilities include working with Customer Project Leads and facilitating communications across teams of individuals and meeting deadlines and due dates.
The BAE Systems Aviation Solutions Division is poised to support efforts domestic and internationally as we move to the newly awarded Aircraft Integration Contract. The selected candidate will have an opportunity to work with Aviation Programs supporting cable modernization, Foreign Military Sales efforts for legacy aircraft overhauls, and System Integration Labs designed to test and develop Mission Communication Systems.
This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in St. Mary's County, near to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.
Some limited relocation assistance maybe available for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Engineering related field and at least 4 years of related experience
Ability and willingness to work on-site in a lab environment. with a team of multiple contractors and government project leads
Ability to develop electrical documentation
Ability to research and provide analysis for specific requests
Ability to design and develop mechanical documentation
Proficiency with JAVA-IETMs Database
Proficiency with CAD-SolidWorks
Knowledge of Stage Testing process
Ability to read technical data package drawings for a baseline design and translate them into a test unique configuration
Ability to troubleshoot hardware issues and document and mitigate according to project process
Ability to create and decompose system requirements into system design
Ability to design test unique configurations for multiple systems
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $95106 - $161680
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
