As our People Operations Generalist, you’ll be the operational heartbeat of our people team. You’ll make sure employees feel supported through every stage of their journey here from the moment they sign their offer letter to their last day with us. You’ll bring benefits to life, keep us sharp on compliance, and own the nuts-and-bolts execution of onboarding and offboarding. You’ll also keep our HR systems clean and reliable, while partnering with Finance and IT to make sure payroll, access, and equipment are always buttoned up.
This is a role for someone who thrives on details, systems, and process and who takes pride in building reliable foundations that allow employees, managers, and leaders to focus on doing their best work.
Responsibilities
Benefits Programs & Engagement
- Own the full cycle of our benefits program: health, dental, vision, 401(k), wellness, and others ensuring employees have access to programs that support them at every stage of life.
- Lead open enrollment from planning to communication to execution, delivering a process that feels clear and stress-free.
- Run creative engagement campaigns (webinars, Q&As, guides, Slack content) that boost awareness and utilization of benefits.
- Partner with brokers, Finance, and payroll to ensure benefits are accurate, competitive, and compliant.
HRIS & People Analytics
- Own the HRIS (HiBob, Easyllama) and ensure clean, reliable people data.
- Develop, implement, and execute employee data change process and workflows.
- Develop dashboards, metrics, and insights to guide leadership decision-making.
- Conduct audits, maintain SOPs, and manage integrations with payroll/finance systems.
- Support system transitions and drive automation to reduce manual work.
- Troubleshoot issues quickly and partner with vendors to resolve problems before they disrupt workflows.
Employee Change Processes
- Own the operational execution of all employee lifecycle changes from new hires and internal transitions to exits.
- Ensure every change (onboarding, role transfer, promotion, or offboarding) follows a consistent, documented process with zero gaps.
- Partner with People Partners and managers to deliver a seamless employee experience during transitions, while maintaining compliance and data accuracy.
- Coordinate system access, equipment, and documentation changes with IT and Finance, acting as the central owner who ensures nothing slips through the cracks.
- Monitor metrics like time-to-readiness, checklist completion, and employee/manager satisfaction to continuously improve the lifecycle experience
Compliance & Risk
- Serve as the go-to owner of compliance across the employee lifecycle: tracking and delivering on federal, state, and local requirements.
- Maintain clean, audit-ready records across personnel files, policy acknowledgments, and training completions.
- Manage leaves of absence, accommodations, and other sensitive processes with precision, confidentiality, and empathy.
- Stay ahead of deadlines for reporting (I-9s, ACA, COBRA, EEO, labor postings) and ensure the company never misses a compliance milestone.
Cross-Functional Finance & IT Support
- Partner with Finance to ensure payroll, benefits deductions, and headcount reconciliation are accurate and aligned.
- Coordinate with IT on equipment provisioning, system access, and deactivation during employee transitions.
- Support Finance and IT in audits, vendor reviews, and employee lifecycle processes to ensure smooth handoffs.
- Act as a connector across People, Finance, and IT, making sure every employee lifecycle touchpoint runs on time and without friction.
Requirements
- Required
- 4+ years of experience in People Operations, HR, or related field.
- Proven track record managing benefits administration and leading employee engagement around benefits.
- Strong understanding of compliance requirements (federal, state, and multi-state), including reporting and audit readiness.
- Hands-on experience with HRIS administration, compliance tools, and data audits.
- Demonstrated ability to own onboarding and offboarding processes with high attention to detail and consistency.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration skills and comfort working cross-functionally with Finance, IT, and leadership.
- Preferred
- Experience in high-growth or multi-state environments where scaling people operations was required.
- Experience leading HR program rollouts (benefits education, wellness initiatives, system transitions).
- Background in high-growth, fast-paced companies (startup or PE-backed).
- Experience with payroll software integrations (ADP, Paylocity, etc.).
- Track record of automating workflows and streamlining HR processes.

- Benefits Engagement: Employees feel confident using their benefits, with increased participation in wellness programs and clear, positive feedback on benefits communications.
- Compliance Confidence: The company remains consistently audit-ready, with zero missed reporting deadlines or compliance risks.
- Seamless Employee Transitions: Onboarding and offboarding are executed with 100% checklist completion, reduced errors, and high satisfaction scores from new hires and managers.
- Data Accuracy & Insights: HRIS and compliance systems are maintained at 99%+ accuracy, with reliable dashboards that provide actionable insights for People Partners and leadership.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Finance and IT experience smoother workflows, fewer escalations, and accurate handoffs across payroll, equipment, and systems access.
- Continuous Improvement: Processes become more efficient through automation, with measurable reductions in manual HR work and improved employee experience.

Compensation
- $80,000-$100,000 base salary based on years of experience
- The salary range may be inclusive of several levels that would be applicable to the position. Final salary will be based on a number of factors including, level, relevant prior experience, skills, and expertise. This range is only inclusive of base salary, not benefits (more details below).

- IC-level positions: $5,000–$7,000 in relocation support (capped at $7,000).
