Data Center Engineer in United State

Visa sponsorship & Relocation 14 hours ago

A fast-growing trading firm is expanding its U.S. infrastructure and is seeking a Data Center Engineer to join its new team in Miami.

This role is unique: while it is primarily data center–oriented, it also includes on-site IT support responsibilities for the Miami office. The engineer will act as the go-to technical resource locally, supported by the infrastructure team, with the autonomy to directly influence both mission-critical trading systems and day-to-day IT operations.

The environment spans Miami, New Jersey, and Chicago, with the engineer playing a central role in ensuring the reliability and performance of low-latency, high-availability systems.

Responsibilities

Data Center Responsibilities;

  • Execute hardware installation and configuration plans prepared by network engineers
  • Perform validation checks after installations (e.g., server reachability, BGP session status).
  • Commission and maintain servers, switches, firewalls, and specialty trading hardware.
  • Coordinate and manage “smart hands” services with colocation providers.
  • Support asset tracking, capacity planning, and change management processes.

Local IT & Office Responsibilities;

  • Act as the primary IT Operations contact in Miami, dedicating approximately 20–30% of time to local support.
  • Set up and configure workstations, handle helpdesk requests, and perform basic troubleshooting.
  • Lead IT aspects of office moves or redesigns (cabling, connectivity, AV setup, etc.).
  • Collaborate with European IT/Infra teams and escalate issues when needed.

Your Profile;

  • 3–6 years of experience across data center operations, IT support, or infrastructure engineering.
  • Solid foundation in rack-and-stack, structured cabling, and power chain setup.
  • Familiarity with systems troubleshooting and network protocols (e.g., IP addressing, routing/BGP basics).
  • Comfortable balancing data center work and end-user IT support.
  • Experience coordinating colocation exchanges or remote-hands services.
  • Proactive and adaptable - able to work independently in a small, high-impact environment.
  • Motivated by scale: the firm’s infrastructure includes 2 operational DCs, 2 in setup, and 2 more planned across NJ, Miami, and Chicago (1–2 racks each)

Growth Opportunities;

  • Join a ground-floor infrastructure team supporting U.S. expansion.
  • Gain visibility across both mission-critical trading systems and local IT operations.
  • Contribute directly to uptime, latency, and scalability outcomes.
  • Work in a culture with no bureaucracy - just execution and innovation.

Benefits;

  • Competitive base salary aligned with experience and performance.
  • Annual performance-based bonus.
  • Potential equity or long-term incentive participation.
  • Comprehensive relocation package (flights, housing search, onboarding support).
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 25 days of paid vacation per year.
  • On-site meals, collaborative engineering culture, and regular team events.

This is a career-defining opportunity for an engineer ready to combine data center expertise with IT operations to support a low-latency trading environment and a high-performing office setup.
