Workday Payroll Manager – Remote (U.S.)

Adalta Global are working with a Workday consulting partner who are seeking a Workday Payroll Manager to join their growing team. This is a remote, full-time position open to experienced professionals across the U.S.
The Workday Payroll Manager serves as both a strategic advisor and hands-on expert in the configuration and optimization of Workday Payroll. You’ll be the central point of contact for a portfolio of clients, ensuring successful delivery of payroll implementations and ongoing support while maintaining strong, trust-based relationships.
You will also oversee a remote, global consulting team, promoting delivery excellence, client satisfaction, and professional growth across the practice.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead multiple client engagements, ensuring Workday Payroll solutions are designed, implemented, and supported with precision and efficiency.
- Oversee and coordinate project timelines, deliverables, and resources to meet client and internal expectations.
- Provide subject matter expertise during implementations, post-production support, and optimization initiatives.
- Act as an escalation point for client issues and drive prompt, effective resolutions while maintaining transparency with leadership teams.
- Support client retention and satisfaction through proactive engagement, process improvements, and measurable results.
- Partner with sales and leadership teams to scope new projects, estimate effort, and contribute to solution design during pre-sales cycles.
- Coach, develop, and evaluate a remote team of consultants — including setting goals, reviewing performance, fostering skill development, and building long-term engagement.
- Identify opportunities to enhance internal delivery tools, templates, and methodologies for greater efficiency and scalability.
- Consistently meet or exceed defined key performance targets (e.g., utilization, client satisfaction, and delivery timelines).
Required Skills & Experience
- Workday Payroll Certification (must be current and issued through a Workday Partner).
- Proven track record of working within Workday Payroll implementations, AMS, or post-production environments.
- Strong technical and functional understanding of Workday Payroll processes, including:
- Pay component configuration
- Tax setup and reconciliation
- Payroll accounting
- Retroactivity and bonus calculations
- EIBs, reporting, and data conversions
- Business process configuration and security setup
- Deep understanding of end-to-end HR, Finance, and Payroll integrations within Workday.
- Experience leading concurrent projects across full lifecycle stages—from design through go-live and stabilization.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically while managing details.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across all organizational levels.
- Proven ability to manage distributed teams and foster collaboration in a remote-first environment.
- Advanced Excel and data analysis capabilities.
- Willingness to travel occasionally
