About the Role
As a Founding Engineer, you’ll be a critical part of the team in building the core architecture and AI systems that will power Elara. This is a unique opportunity to work directly with the founding team to design and develop AI-powered features, backend infrastructure, and data pipelines that will deliver personalized styling and shopping recommendations for users.
This is a high-impact role that offers you the chance to shape the direction of the product and play a key part in Elara’s success as an early team member. There is potential for full-time conversion based on performance and fit.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and scale AI-driven systems to deliver highly personalized user experiences based on evolving data and preferences.
- Design and implement backend solutions that efficiently manage user data and support dynamic, intelligent workflows.
- Collaborate with the team to integrate AI models that provide real-time, tailored suggestions for an enhanced user journey.
- Build and optimize data pipelines that drive insights and continuous improvement in user interactions.
- Ensure backend systems are scalable, reliable, and fast, providing a seamless experience for users.
- Contribute to the product development cycle, influencing both the technical and user-facing features based on feedback and iteration.
Who You Are
- A builder at heart: you ship fast, and you ship right.
- 1-2 years of experience in AI engineering, ML systems, or backend development (less experience is fine if you have the right skillset).
- You use AI (ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, etc.) to build 10x faster.
- Strong proficiency in Python, Typescript and backend frameworks (NestJS, MongoDB).
- You have live working projects to show us. (Not just rankings on C++, Codeforces, etc.)
- You learn new tools and tech at lightning speed.
- You're comfortable working directly with founders, owning your work, and making critical product decisions.
- Experience (academic or personal projects) with AI tools or OpenAI APIs
Bonus Skills
- Experience with e-commerce integrations and affiliate shopping systems.
- Interest or experience with fashion technology, styling tools, or user personalization.
- Experience working with AI personalization systems and fashion recommendation algorithms.You’ve built full-stack apps solo and can show them live.
