Cloud Operations Engineer in the
United States.
As a Cloud Operations Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and optimizing cloud infrastructure, ensuring operational excellence and security compliance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy, monitor, and automate cloud resources, supporting both cloud and on-prem environments. The role requires hands-on work with Infrastructure-as-Code, cloud platforms, and identity/access management systems, contributing to high-availability and secure operations. You will help streamline processes, manage patching and updates, and proactively address technical issues while supporting regulatory and client requirements. The position is remote, allowing collaboration with teams across the United States.
Accountabilities:
- Manage and maintain cloud and on-prem infrastructure, including provisioning, configuration, and performance optimization
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and tooling to improve deployment and operational workflows
- Oversee Identity and Access Management (IAM) and implement security best practices to protect sensitive data
- Ensure timely patch management and compliance with regulatory and internal standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
- Monitor and analyze system performance metrics to identify improvements and mitigate risks
- Document infrastructure configurations, processes, and project progress for operational transparency
- Support day-to-day project activities, tracking progress and ensuring timely completion of tasks
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in systems engineering, architecture, and cloud operations (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible) and CI/CD workflows
- Strong knowledge of cloud administration, system provisioning, and performance optimization
- Experience meeting SLAs through effective issue resolution in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with managed services, ticketing systems, and compliance frameworks (e.g., FedRAMP)
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to create technical documentation, diagrams, and effectively communicate complex concepts
- Self-motivated, professional, and able to manage priorities independently
- Knowledge of security frameworks, PKI, and encryption standards is a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with serverless architectures, microservices, or containerized environments
- Familiarity with networking, firewall technologies, and cloud-based security solutions
- Exposure to regulatory frameworks such as FISMA, SOC, ISO, HIPAA, HITRUST, or PCI
- Experience with large-scale or high-availability production environments
- Previous technical consulting experience or cross-functional collaboration
