Position Overview
The
Network Engineer III is responsible for developing, maintaining and troubleshooting network infrastructure related hardware, operating systems, firewalls, configuration changes, troubleshooting, system performance, and other technologies as described below.
Essential Duties
- Specify, Operate, and maintain platforms related to Cisco and Palo Alto environment.
- Ensures production infrastructure meets all service level commitments.
- Experience working in security administration.
- Experience with Network micro-segmentation.
- Secures network by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access.
- Participate and/or lead in complex customer and internal projects.
- Proactively and reactively look for solutions to prevent complex problems from occurring across teams/technologies.
- Develop and maintain systems documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Participation in on-call rotation with other Systems Staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Strong documentation skills.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in Network Administration is required (more experience preferred).
- Healthcare IT experience is preferred. Candidates with healthcare IT experience will be prioritized
- Demonstrated understanding of networking including routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP a plus
- Demonstrated experience designing redundant network infrastructure
- Proficient in configuration and management of Cisco IOS based routers
- Proficient in configuration and management of Fortinet Fortigate routers
- Proficient in configuration and management of Palo Alto PanOS firewalls
- CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Administrator) or other comparable CNA preferred
- CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) or other comparable CNP certification preferred
- Prior to moving forward to the team interview, all candidates are required to complete a 50–60-minute competency assessment. The assessment gives us insights into how your strengths, preferences, and work style align with the OCHIN's nine core competencies. It’s not about passing or failing—it’s about understanding fit and setting you up for success.

Base Pay Overview - Salary Range $111,407 - $132,831
OCHIN uses broadened pay bands to support equitable and market-aligned compensation practices. For this role, the typical offer range falls between the minimum and midpoint of the pay range. Level information is listed below. The final offer will be based on a variety of factors, including relevant skills, certifications, education, experience, training, responsibilities, internal equity, and market data.
- Level I: Typically pays between the minimum and 30th percentile of the band
- Level II: Typically pays between the 15th and 35th percentile of the band
- Level III: Typically pays between the 30th and 55th percentile of the band
