Job Description:
The Enterprise Monitoring System Analyst is responsible for the configuration, maintenance and on-going improvements to the monitoring framework supporting infrastructure and application environments. The System Analyst will work with multiple teams to tune, implement and support monitoring configurations that provide alerting mechanisms and escalations.
The Systems Analyst might train other IT associates on the monitoring tools usability. Perform service reviews ensuring that all systems and components are monitored with appropriate thresholds to ensure alerts are generated in support of SLA/SLO for capacity and availability.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Day to day support of the monitoring framework including short- and long-term planning, health checks, software patching, capacity planning, security, performance analysis, and tuning.
- Monitor and troubleshoot monitoring and event management configurations of network, systems, application performance and various CI’s.
- Coordinate the planning and implementation of the monitoring framework infrastructure hardware and/or software. Serve as support in the evaluation of monitoring designs and/or approaches for system enhancements
- Develop capacity and availability monitoring and reporting processes for solutions.
- Develop and manage cross-platform monitoring architecture for virtualized computing and storage infrastructure.
- Develops and performs tests to ensure systems meet documented user requirements and provides input for documentation on new or existing systems.
- Execute Corporate IT daily support activities including:
- Change Control Tasks
- IT Requests
- Incident Tickets
- Assigned Project Tasks
- Operational accountability for providing data necessary to perform root cause analysis, coordination and oversight of problem resolutions.
