On behalf of the European Space Agency, we will be soon looking for a highly skilled
(Conceptual) Data Modelling Engineer to work in ESTEC, in the Netherlands.
What Is Expected From You
- Aid the definition of requirements, architectures, deployments and verification methods for conceptual system and subsystem modelling and information system generation used in the different project phases.
- Provide support to Projects on conceptual data modelling of space and ground systems, using novel methods and tools, in particular Object Role Modelling in the context of the Space System Ontology.
- Provide support in the definition and development of the modelling ecosystem for the development of the Space System Ontology.
- Provide support to Projects on the Information System definition, generation and verification, also facilitating the adoption of novel technologies, methods and tools.
- Provide support to the Space System Ontology Design Authority in its objective to apply semantic modelling for enabling (semantic) interoperability.
- Reinforce specific areas of interest for data modelling, such as: ▪ Conceptual Data Modelling. ▪ Spacecraft Monitoring and Control Data Modelling. ▪ Spacecraft Procedures Definition.
- Support the application of the Space System Ontology in support of AIapplication. And vice-versa.
- Assist the relevant working groups in OSMoSE (Overall Semantic Modelling for Space System Engineering) and the overarching Digital (Twin) Spacecraft.
What You Offer
- Master Degree in the relevant field
- Knowledge and experience with software engineering and semantic modelling.
- Knowledge and experience with spacecraft functional verification (Simulation Modelling, Real-Time Simulator development, testing and evaluation. Spacecraft database management systems (Data Modelling, Software Development, Model Driven Software Generation, Monitoring and Procedure Control Languages)
- Data Quality and Data Management.

Where
You will be working within ESTEC, the European Space Agency’s offices in the Netherlands as a contractor for Telespazio Belgium. We don’t expect the employees to be on-site full time however you will still have to relocate to the Netherlands for this position.
