Job Description

It takes a Blizzard to make a Blizzard game, and that level of effort doesn’t end once the game is released; we support our games for years after they’re in the hands of gamers worldwide. Global Insights works closely with the game development, business, and internal service teams at Blizzard to produce insights and models that enable us to make the most epic player experiences. The Marketing Analytics team within Global Insights focuses on applying advanced analytics and data science to help our marketing teams make smarter, data-driven decisions that maximize player engagement and business impact.

We are seeking a Data Scientist with strong experience in marketing analytics to join our team. This role will focus on building models and analytical frameworks that measure marketing effectiveness, customer lifetime value, and ROI across a variety of channels—including social media, paid advertising, and influencer campaigns. The ideal candidate is passionate about using data to solve real-world business problems, thrives in a collaborative environment, and can communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Irvine, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement statistical and machine learning models to measure and optimize marketing performance, including:
    • Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM) to evaluate channel effectiveness.
    • Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) models to inform acquisition and retention strategies.
    • ROI and attribution analysis across paid, owned, and earned media.
  • Collaborate with marketing, finance, and business teams to translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Build and maintain data pipelines and dashboards to monitor marketing KPIs and model outputs.
  • Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and compelling way.
  • Stay informed on emerging trends and best practices in marketing analytics and data science.
Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or related fields, with a focus on marketing analytics.
  • Advanced degree (Master’s preferred) in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Hands-on experience with marketing mix modeling, attribution, or customer lifetime value modeling.
  • Strong programming skills in Python (or R) and proficiency with SQL.
  • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and statistical modeling techniques.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
  • Ability to work independently on moderately complex problems and deliver actionable insights.

Extra Points

  • Experience in the gaming or entertainment industry.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing platforms (Google Ads, Facebook Ads, programmatic buying) and analytics tools.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $34.28 - $63.42 Hourly. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
