Job Summary

The Human Resources Generalist serves as the stand-alone HR representative for the EMEA region and is responsible for providing local HR expertise and support for a broad range of HR-related duties. The HR Generalist—EMEA partners with management to develop and retain excellent staff, reinforce a safe and positive work environment, and support a culture of belonging.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Independently manages full-cycle recruitment, including consulting with hiring managers, interviewing candidates, and presenting offers
  • Acts as immigration liaison with external legal counsel and the Authorising Officer for the Home Office Immigration System
  • Coordinates the new employee orientation process in the region in collaboration with managers and the global HR team
  • Administers health and welfare benefits for the region (both UK and the Netherlands offices) and communicates plans to staff. Makes recommendations to management on future benefits or changes
  • Maintains the Employee Handbook and provides policy updates. Responds to employee questions related to HR policies
  • Owns and compiles a suite of HR recordkeeping and reporting, such as regional leave reports, payroll changes, and personnel files. Contributes to HR global reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Coordinates annual performance reviews for the region and provides training to local staff on the process
  • Advises managers on HR matters such as disability accommodation, progressive disciplinary process, poor work performance, leave management, etc. for both UK and the Netherlands staff. Offers solutions and best practices and pro-actively follows up with staff when warranted
  • Leads local HR compliance efforts, including General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and business travel visa requirements
  • Coordinates regional training requirements, including liaising with external vendors
  • Coordinates consultant contracts in compliance with legal requirements
  • Manages other HR projects as assigned


Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) qualified: minimum Level 5 or relevant experience needed
  • Proven competence obtaining skilled worker sponsorship and as well as exposure to applying for overseas business visitor visas would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of GDPR and its impact on the HR function
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner role with full-cycle recruitment
  • Ability and desire to keep up to date with legal changes related to HR functions in the UK and the Netherlands

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise
  • Detail-oriented and proficient and accurate in typing and data entry
  • Ability to contribute to a high-performing team and maintain a collaborative approach to the work
  • Demonstrable superior English language written and oral communication skills
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Language skills for Europe (especially the Netherlands) would be advantageous but not essential
