Role: Technical Director - Leather Care

We are seeking a Technical Director with deep expertise in luxury leather goods aftercare, repair, and atelier management. The ideal candidate will have experience from Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Berluti, or similar maisons — or with bespoke shoemakers such as Church’s, John Lobb and Edward Green.

This role reports directly to senior leadership and will play a pivotal part in scaling Washmen’s luxury aftercare division into a global reference point for craftsmanship, innovation, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all technical operations across shoe & handbag cleaning, restoration, and repair
• Define and enforce luxury-level craftsmanship and quality standards
• Train, develop, and elevate the technicians in line with atelier practices
• Drive innovation in materials, repair techniques, and finishing
• Strengthen supplier partnerships and oversee artisan material inventory
• Scale operations without compromising artisanal quality
• Bridge heritage craftsmanship with modern operational efficiency

Candidate Profile

• 10+ years’ experience in luxury leather shoes & handbags aftercare, repair and atelier management
• Atelier and technical leadership background from Hermès, LV, Chanel, Berluti or equivalent high-end maisons — or with bespoke shoemakers such as Church’s, John Lobb and Edward Green
• A leader who balances respect for heritage craftsmanship with the ability to modernize at scale
• Expertise in leather, exotic skins, hardware, and finishing techniques
• Proven ability to scale teams while preserving craftsmanship standards
• Willingness to relocate to Dubai
