Position Summary
We're a startup developing innovative eVTOL(electric vertical takeoff and landing) aircraft. We're looking for a Development IT Manager to oversee our digital environment, from aircraft development and testing to manufacturing and the supply chain. This is a critical role for ensuring the efficiency and security of our business processes.
You'll work closely with our engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to lead our digital transformation and guide your team to project success. We're looking for more than just a system administrator; we need a strategic partner who can identify business challenges and design and build the future digital foundation to solve them.
Key Responsibilities
Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) System Management
- Maintain, operate, and improve our PLM systems.
- Establish a unified management system for engineering data, including Bill of Materials (BOM) management, configuration, document control, and change management.
- Gather requirements from engineering teams and optimize or customize PLM workflows to meet their needs.
Core Business System Development and Operation
- Plan, implement, maintain, and operate core business systems such as Production Management Systems and WMS (Warehouse Management Systems).
- Gather business requirements and implement system customizations and improvements.
Development and Operation of Data Analytics Infrastructure
- Developed a data pipeline to efficiently collect and store vast amounts of sensor data, test results, and simulation outputs from aircraft under development
- Established a data analytics platform utilizing machine learning models to support performance prediction, quality control, and optimization of maintenance planning
- Lead the overall development of infrastructure to promote data utilization, including data quality management and metadata management
Business Challenge Identification and IT Strategy Planning
- Gain a deep understanding of current business processes in development, manufacturing, and SCM to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
- Develop strategies and roadmaps to solve both explicit and latent business challenges with IT solutions.
Team Management and Project Leadership
- Oversee the Development IT group as a manager, including team coordination, member development, performance evaluation, and goal setting.
- Managed outsourced vendors and IT service management
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in the planning, implementation, maintenance, and operation of core development systems like PLM and Production Management Systems.
- 3+ years of experience in the aerospace or automotive industries.
- Experience identifying and solving explicit or latent business challenges as an IT business partner.
- 3+ years of team management experience.
- Business-level English proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the aerospace industry, including eVTOL.
- Knowledge of the Type Certificate acquisition process and experience handling related data management requirements.
- Experience collaborating with certification authorities (e.g., FAA, EASA, JCAB).
- Experience in managing the traceability of critical parts within a supply chain.
- Knowledge and practical experience with IoT and AI for the automation and optimization of manufacturing and development processes.
- Experience building and operating data analytics platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.).

Working Hours
- Supervisor
- Supervisor: As per Japan's Labor Standards Act, regulations concerning working hours, breaks, and holidays do not apply.
- Basic working hours: Start 9:00 End 18:00(Including 1hour break time)
- Overtime Work: Available
Holidays
- 115 days off per year(Saturday / Sundays / Newyear holidays(12/29~1/3) / Company designated holidays)

Salary
- Estimated Annual Salary: JPY 9,000,000 - JPY 13,000,000
- Monthly Salary: JPY 750,000 - JPY 1,084,000
- Includes fixed overtime pay for 20 hours, amounting to JPY 21,845 - JPY 31,575
- Additional overtime pay will be provided for hours exceeding the fixed overtime.
