The Integrated Solutions Modeling & Architecture (ISMA) Departments support customer focused mission modeling and simulation activities for all customer areas at Raytheon. Our teams develop, analyze, and create flexible integration solutions crossing all product areas such as sensors, effectors, command and control, logistics, and operations. We develop tools and methods to evaluate campaign, mission, and system level analysis and visualizations based on customer requirements.

The Concept of Operations (CONOPS) Analysis section focuses on development of next generation CONOPS for new and existing systems. A blend of system architecture and modeling simulation, analysis techniques are used to communicate to the customer integrated weapon system performance and architecture advancements. Mission Areas supported include Land Warfare & Air Defense, Naval Power, Air Power and Business Development.

The CONOPS Analysis section is hiring for a Modeling and Simulation Engineer, Systems Engineer II. This is an onsite role and can be located in either Woburn or Tewksbury, MA.

What You Will Do

  • You will participate in the development and implementation of model-based solutions to support mission trade studies and performance simulations and ensure they meet defined requirements and functions.
  • You will contribute your knowledge of performance engineering practices and procedures to evaluate work across a wide range of intriguing computational problems.
  • You will contribute and collaborate in a team environment receiving input from the program or team experts and contributing your knowledge to advance the discussions. The projects will be varied and your knowledge across the breadth of architectures will contribute to developing the most effective approaches and solutions.
  • You will evaluate end-to-end system needs to understand system interfaces and data connectivity requirements across the kill-chain.
  • You will analyze data to understand performance requirements.
  • You will develop metrics to validate proposed architectures against requirements as well as help shape future tech growth.
  • You will develop or implement algorithms to provide next-generation performance across the entire system of systems.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience modeling and/or simulating physical systems.
  • Experience with Matlab, Python and/or C/C++
  • Ability to obtain Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Degree / Advanced Degree in one of the following majors: Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Operations Research, Math, Applied Math, Industrial Engineering, Physics, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Active Secret or Top Secret clearance.
  • Knowledge of the system engineering life-cycle model.
  • Experience in data analysis and statistics with large volumes of data.
  • Experience conducting analysis and studies, including how to define and execute a study.
  • Experience evaluating new concepts of operation and developing new technology use cases.
  • Demonstrated technical and analytical skills to develop credible results for presenting to the customer.
  • Experience in concepts such as Concept of Operations (CONOPS), system tradeoffs, threat definitions, and system of system assessments.

  • Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
