About the Job
This is a full-time on-site role located in Amsterdam, Netherlands for a DevOps Engineer Kubernetes.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive DevOps Engineer with a strong focus on Kubernetes to join our IT Integration & Data Onboarding team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining our current Kubernetes environments and setting up new ones.
You will work closely with data engineers and automation engineers to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable Kubernetes operations. Leveraging tools such as Helm, ArgoCD, Bicep, and Azure DevOps, you will drive automation, standardization, and continuous delivery across environments in both Azure and OpenShift.
What You Will Do
- Maintain, monitor, and optimize existing Kubernetes clusters in Azure and OpenShift.
- Design, deploy, and configure new Kubernetes environments, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability.
- Manage and automate application deployments using Helm and ArgoCD.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) with Bicep for Kubernetes and related infrastructure.
- Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, enabling faster and more reliable delivery.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to implement GitOps practices.
- Monitor and troubleshoot Kubernetes workloads, networking, and cluster performance.
- Document Kubernetes standards, operating procedures, and best practices.
- Contribute to on-call rotation, providing operational support as required.
What You Will Bring
- Experience in DevOps, platform, or infrastructure engineering roles.
- Proven experience managing Kubernetes clusters in production environments (Azure Kubernetes Service, OpenShift or EKS).
- Proficiency with Helm and ArgoCD for application deployment and GitOps workflows.
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps pipelines for CI/CD.
- Strong experience with Azure cloud services and infrastructure automation using Bicep.
- Solid understanding of containerization, networking, and cloud-native application patterns.
- Certification: CKAD (Certified Kubernetes Application Developer) or CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator).
What Will Set You Apart
- Familiarity with hybrid and multi-cluster Kubernetes setups.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor).
- Exposure to security best practices for Kubernetes (RBAC, pod security, network policies).
- Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
- Knowledge of Azure networking a plus.
