Job Title: Support Engineer

Total Experience Required: 5+ years in Information Technology/Computers/Software

Relevant Experience Required: 4+ years in Power Systems Application software development and real-time or mission-critical environments.

Job Type: Contract

Contract Duration: A minimum duration of 6 months, with the possibility of extension up to 18 months or beyond, depending on project requirements.

Workplace Type: 100% Remote within Poland & Romania

Languages Required: English

Visa/Work Authorization Status: Candidates must hold a valid work permit or visa to work in Poland

Work Location: Poland & Romania

1. Must be currently based in Poland or Romania
2. Willing to relocate to Poland & Romania from anywhere within Europe or the UK
3. Candidates outside Europe/UK unfortunately cannot be considered

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and support advanced Power Systems Application software.
• Collaborate with Electric Utilities or ISOs/TSOs to define functional specifications.
• Design, code, test, integrate, and tune applications to meet project commitments.
• Analyse and resolve technical issues in live customer environments.
• Install system patches, software updates, and third-party tools such as Oracle and NetApp.

Essential Skills

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a specialisation in Power Systems.
• Proficiency in Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Strong programming knowledge in C, C++, Java, and Oracle Database.
• Expertise in Reliance Power Systems, SQL, and shell scripting.
• Ability to interpret logs, debug files, and analyse complex system issues.
• Hands-on experience with GitHub, ClearCase, and system configuration.
• Proven ability to manage software fixes and upgrades on live systems.

Optional Skills

• Experience working within large-scale utility or energy management environments.
• Familiarity with NetApp storage systems and real-time data applications.
• Prior exposure to Independent System Operator (ISO) or Transmission System Operator (TSO) operations.
