The School of Management at the University of Bath is inviting applications for a Professor to work within the Information, Decisions and Operations Division on a fractional basis (0.3 FTE) for a 3-year fixed term (extendable based on mutual agreement).
The IDO Division encompasses around 35 faculty with diverse research portfolios, ranging from Forecasting, Analytics, Operational Research and Management Science (see for example
Fotios Petropoulos), empirical OM / SCM / PM (see for example
Jens Roehrich), and IS / cyber security (see for example,

Bath School of Management is one of the highest-ranking management schools in Europe in terms of both its research and education. Research support includes funding for conference attendance, data collection and research visits; a dedicated grant support team; and generous research allowances within our workload.
The IDO Division has excellent industry and academic networks which support a thriving and highly collegiate environment. For this post, we are particularly keen to recruit a forecasting scholar. Importantly, within this umbrella, we welcome applications from those whose research focuses on forecasting in social settings, including forecasting for operations and businesses, using computer-based/systematic (statistical and/or machine-learning) approaches to forecasting/prediction but also exploring qualitative/behavioural aspects of forecasting. Furthermore, we place value on researchers that engage in significant, real-world, business, and social challenges.
Our ideal candidate will have a notable international reputation, outstanding publication record and ability to attract research funding. You will play a full role in the vibrant and thriving intellectual and research culture of the School, and in guiding and mentoring more junior colleagues. We are keen to build upon our track record in attracting external research income, our demonstrable impacts on policy and practice, and our publications in leading journals. The successful applicant will join a high-achieving and supportive team of colleagues who carry out innovative research across a broad range of topics.
