Job Title: Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Rochester, NY (Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite Required)

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, maintain, and optimize the foundational IT systems that support our technology environment. This includes servers, networks, storage, virtualization, and cloud services. The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, security, and performance of infrastructure components that are critical to daily operations.
Note: Candidates must be located in or willing to relocate to Rochester, NY, and be able to work onsite a minimum of three days per week. Remote work is allowed on the remaining days.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise infrastructure systems including servers, storage, network devices, virtualization platforms, and cloud environments
- Monitor system performance and conduct regular health checks
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues
- Implement security protocols, perform vulnerability assessments, and ensure compliance
- Collaborate with development, security, and network teams to implement integrated solutions
- Automate infrastructure tasks using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or PowerShell
- Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions
- Maintain detailed infrastructure documentation
- Plan and execute system upgrades, migrations, and deployments
- Provide technical support and training to IT staff and end users
- Conduct capacity planning and recommend scalable solutions
- Assist in disaster recovery planning and execution
- Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies
- Ensure all infrastructure implementations follow security best practices
- Participate in after-hours support and on-call rotation as needed
- Travel to other facilities for maintenance and support as required
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Strong experience managing infrastructure across servers, storage, networking, and cloud platforms
- Proficiency with Windows Server, Linux, VMware or Hyper-V
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Knowledge of networking, security principles, and backup/recovery strategies
- Experience with monitoring, patch management, and system hardening
- Scripting/automation experience (PowerShell, Bash, Python, etc.)
- Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator
- VMware Certified Professional
- Cisco CCNA
- CompTIA Server+, Network+, or Security+
- Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with ITIL and service management best practices
- Exposure to DevOps methodologies and infrastructure as code
