About The Role

The Global Immigration & Mobility Specialist will be responsible for day to day operations with International Assignments and Immigration that meet business requirements by working in conjunction with global, local policies, processes & regulations; monitoring compliance & striving for improvements and keeping management informed appropriately. This role serves as the subject matter expert for all U.K. immigration matters. This position has no direct reports.

What You Will Do

  • Lead U.K. Immigration Management
  • Act as the primary subject matter expert on U.K. immigration laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversee all U.K. immigration case types (Skilled worker visa, Global Talent visa, Blue card, Secondment worker visa, etc.).
  • Manage end-to-end processes for visa applications, renewals, and permanent residency.
  • Partner with external immigration counsel and U.K. government agencies.
  • Advise HR, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders on immigration strategy, risks, and timelines.
  • Ensure immigration compliance and maintain accurate reporting. 2. Global Mobility Operations (U.K, France, Germany, Inbound/Outbound)
  • Manage relocation, assignment, and transfer programs for employees moving into or out of the U.K, France and Germany.
  • Partner with tax, payroll, and relocation vendors to ensure cost-effective, compliant, and seamless mobility services.
  • Support expatriates, short-term assignees, permanent transfers, and business travelers.
  • Oversee repatriation and post-assignment transitions for employees leaving the U.K. 3. Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with U.K. immigration laws, labor regulations, and employment verification.
  • Monitor policy changes, visa caps, and government guidance; communicate business impacts proactively.
  • Maintain compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, U.K and Germany. data laws).
  • Conduct audits and reviews of immigration and mobility records to mitigate risks. 4. Policy & Program Development
  • Develop and maintain U.K. focused immigration and mobility policies.
  • Align U.K and Europe practices with global mobility frameworks while accounting for U.K.-specific nuances.
  • Benchmark industry best practices to ensure competitive and compliant mobility strategies.
  • Prepare regular reports on immigration trends, risks, and program effectiveness. 5. Employee & Stakeholder Support
  • Act as the primary advisor for employees, providing guidance on immigration processes and mobility programs.
  • Deliver training and communication sessions for HR, managers, and employees on U.K. immigration topics.
  • Partner with leadership to align immigration strategies with workforce planning and talent needs.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, counsel, and relocation providers. Key Skills & Competencies
  • Deep expertise in U.K. immigration law (Skilled worker visa, Global Talent visa, Blue card, Secondment worker visa, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of global mobility operations (tax, payroll, relocation, compliance).
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex, fast-paced global environment.
  • Sensitivity to employee experience and cultural awareness.

What You Need To Be Successful

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Law, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 7–10+ years of experience in U.K. immigration with exposure to global mobility programs.
  • Experience managing high-volume immigration caseloads across multiple visa categories.
  • Strong collaboration with immigration counsel, relocation vendors, and government agencies.
  • Certifications (preferred but not required): GMS (Global Mobility Specialist), SHRM-CP/SHRM- SCP, or equivalent.
  • Good knowledge in HR Technology tools, systems, especially in expat compensation.
