Hervey Bay

IFA 7 - $125,088 plus superannuation

  • +$6,000 relocation bonus for suitable candidates
  • + additional 5 days recreation leave
  • + 10-day fortnight

Stream A Level 7 - $109,832 plus superannuation

  • +$6,000 relocation allowance for suitable candidates
  • + 9-day fortnight

What We Are Looking For

Are you ready to take the reins of a critical leadership role where your expertise directly safeguards and empowers an entire community?

We’re looking for a forward-thinking IT Infrastructure Coordinator to guide Council’s infrastructure team and oversee the availability, maintenance and security of our core technology environment including network, storage management & virtualisation, cloud services, cyber security, audio visual, M365 and CCTV.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity where you’ll not only manage complex infrastructure but also influence long-term planning, risk management, and the adoption of new technologies.

What Your Day Will Look Like

  • Lead a skilled, technical team and drive performance, availability, and resilience of Council’s IT systems.
  • Safeguard our organisation through strong cyber security strategies, regular testing, and staff awareness programs.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of IT assets – from design and deployment through to renewal and replacement.
  • Play a key role in business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
  • Partner with vendors, leadership teams and stakeholders to shape Council’s IT roadmap and strategy.
  • Share your knowledge, mentor staff, and foster a culture of best practice and innovation.

What You’ll Need For Success

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology (or similar), and;
  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge and experience in the administration and support of a Windows IT environment, including:
    • Networks: Network Equipment and Communication systems.
    • Corporate Systems: Servers, Relational Databases, Information Systems and Associated Tools & development
    • Computers: Operating Systems, Microsoft Applications, Personal Computers and Peripheral Devices.
  • Experience in supervising, coaching and developing very technical staff to effectively deliver and support complex IT infrastructure
  • Experience with day-to-day oversight of IT Infrastructure budgets.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills
  • Ability to lead and coach tech staff to effectively delivery and support complex IT infrastructure.
  • Current QLD driver's licence

What’s Nice To Have

  • Additional qualifications in an Information Technology field (such as CCNA etc.)
