KBR is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a
Part-Time Graphics Animator. This position supports tasking at the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Program Executive Office, Unmanned Aviation and Strike Weapons (PEO(U&W)), located in
Patuxent River, MD. The selected candidate will provide graphic animation and design to training materials for both MQ-4 Triton flight operators and maintainers. This position offers the opportunity to influence cutting-edge EW capabilities that directly support the warfighter and advance the Navy and Marine Corps’ unmanned aviation mission. Roles And Responsibilities
- Responsibilities include creating graphic animations and illustrations for use in technical manuals, courseware, multimedia, and publications in close collaboration with technical writers, engineers, and subject matter experts.
- Operates computer hardware and software to prepare, revise, print, and store text, illustrations, graphs, charts, etc.
- Renders concept art and technical illustrations from models, sketches, memory, written or verbal instructions, and imagination. Selects type, places lettering, lays out material, or performs related duties.
- Determines style, technique, and medium best suited to produce desired effects and conforms to reproduction requirements or follows specific instructions regarding these variables.
- Be able to convert source files (.AI, .PDF, .PNG, etc.) to a CGM format output.
- Must have the ability to research, review, and understand technical information and develop procedural information for technical documentation. Must have high mechanical comprehension skills related to technical drawings and animations. Must have the ability to translate written requests to visual illustrations and animation through an iterative process, collaboration, relying on end user requirements, engineering data, and subject matter expert input. Must exhibit flexibility of work hours to adjust to surge situations based on critical mission requirements.
Basic Qualifications
Education & Years of Experience: BS/BA & 2 years of experience
OR AA/AS & 6 years of experience
OR High School Diploma or GED & 10 years of experience. Additional experience accepted in lieu of formal education.
Technical Skills/Software: Adobe Animate, Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator experience. SolidWorks, AutoCAD, 3DS Max, or equivalent experience; 2D drafting, 3D modeling, and animation.
Clearance & Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen. Active Secret clearance with the ability to maintain and meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with military technical documents, delivery, and integrated logistics support (ARs, MIL STDs and MIL-PRFs, IETMs, TPDRs, DIDs, etc.) is recommended. Naval aviation maintenance experience is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft office suite.
- Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint.
- Familiarity with XML integrated graphics (hotspots, etc.)
- Experience with ASD S1000D process Data Modules.
- SDI Editor, VizEx Editor, IsoDraw, SolidWorks and/or Catia experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) development procedures using S1000D, and DoD MIL-STDs; Document Type Definitions, and style sheets used to develop product deliverables for all classes of IETMs is a plus.
- Experience with the EAGLE Publishing System, the NAVAIR Enterprise Common Source Data Base (highly desirable) or equivalent capability.
Position may offer a flexible remote workplace setting.
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 20 hours/week
Basic Compensation: $62,000-$93,000 (based on a full-time 40-hour week). The salary range posted is based on the national average. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s location, knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
