Who Are We?

HD Intelligence is basketball’s premier analytics consulting company, serving coaching staffs at the collegiate, international, and professional levels. While most of our work revolves around basketball, we also now partner with major conferences and leagues on projects spanning multiple sports. As a member of our team, you’ll play a key role in building and maintaining internal applications that help coaches, analysts, league administrators and other key decision makers interact with data more efficiently. You’ll collaborate with both technical staff and end users to develop tools that directly impact high-level decision-making in competitive environments. We’re currently looking for both full and part-time team members for the 2025-26 season.

The Role and Expectations

  • As either a full-time or part-time employee (or contractor, if applicable), you will play a central role in the development of HDI’s internal and client-facing applications. Team members in this role are expected to:
  • Design and build web and mobile applications to improve internal workflows and enhance client-facing usability.
  • Shape application architecture to ensure long-term scalability, performance, and reliability.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and apply best practices.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that prioritizes maintainability, security, and performance.
  • This position is 100% remote. Applicants must live in and be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Some possible travel involved, but only when agreed upon by employee and supervisor.
  • Individuals in this role will report to a manager as assigned and work regularly with other members of the HDI team. Must be a team player.

Required Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Python; experience with frameworks such as Flask is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript and React for frontend development.
  • Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and testing skills.
  • Availability, dependability, and flexibility - not only as it pertains to clients, but also to one's work with fellow team members.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with database design and optimization.
  • Understanding of responsive UI/UX design principles.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or DigitalOcean.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
  • Background in sports analytics, particularly with experience developing sports-related applications.
  • If hired part-time: some availability during the typical 9-5 work day to respond to client or internal communications, as well as potential projects and tasks as needed.
