About The Role

We're looking for a hands-on engagement and projects manager who loves working directly with customers and improving business processes and reporting. You'll be a primary driver guiding successful HR & Payroll software implementations for UK-based organisations, supporting clients from project launch through to employee go-live and early adoption phases, whilst also shaping internal playbooks, reporting, and helping improve cross-functional ways of working.

What you'll do

What a Typical Week Looks Like

Customer delivery (60%)

  • Own and maintain project plans and governance cadence with clients: scope, timeline, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder communications
  • Align with internal delivery teams from HR, Payroll and Technical Integration teams to ensure a smooth flow through key project phases
  • Ensure transition of relationship management to appropriate engagement stakeholders throughout early stage client lifecycle
  • Assist at pre-sales stage to help scope incoming project complexity and build understanding within prospects as to project methodology

Building the machine (30%)

  • Create and refine governance documentation and playbooks for projects, building templates, improving project plan methodologies and tracking processes
  • Help ensure consistency in reporting on ongoing projects for operational cadences and assist functional leads with forecasting for pipeline resource allocation
  • Assist with internal training to support light-project methodology practices

Cross-functional collaboration (10%)

  • Provide feedback and insight from customer engagements to wider business functions through reporting and direct sessions (for instance product insight and feedback, or developing processes with Sales for prospects)
  • Producing dashboards and reporting content for operational and executive reviews

Skills And Experience Valued In The Role

  • 2+ years of project management or implementation experience, ideally in SaaS HRIS/Payroll or adjacent B2B software
  • Strong client-facing skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into simple, outcome-focused plans
  • Comfortable and adept with different project methodologies and building concise reporting summaries
  • A confident facilitator, capable of guiding various stakeholders and personas through project phases and dealing with queries, issues and escalations
  • Experience delivering multiple concurrent SME projects with short timeframes
  • Tools: experience with project, collaboration and CRM tooling

Nice to have

  • Working knowledge of UK HR and Payroll processes and practices
  • Professional certifications (APM, PMP, AgilePM, PRINCE2 Scrum)
  • Background in HR, Payroll, or People Operations
  • Experience working with distributed teams and remote/hybrid environments

Don't meet all the requirements? If you think you would still represent a good fit and have relevant experience we'd still love to hear from you.
