Eaton’s Protection, Control and Solutions (PCS) Advanced Technology team is seeking a
Control Technology Engineering Manager to lead our newly formed Control Technology team.
Reporting to the Director, you will have the opportunity to drive the technology platform of embedded control systems for circuit protection and switching. You will also work with a team of dedicated engineers and experience the excitement of bringing new products to life from design concept to production launch. The role is located in Moon Township, PA. A hybrid work model (3 onsite/2 remote) is available. Relocation assistance is available. Ability to travel both domestically and globally is required.
The primary function is to deliver reusable embedded control technologies and platforms to enable power electronics based circuit protection and switching products. This includes developing in-depth technical understanding of embedded hardware and firmware, their application requirements, and creating functionalities to support these applications in both AC and DC power systems.
In This Role You Will
- Lead a diverse technology team

- Develop technology roadmap and a technical vision to team members
- Coordinate development and validation efforts with other teams within PCS Advanced Technology group
- Lead formal design and quality reviews
- Build and maintain subject matter expertise for solid state and hybrid circuit breaker control
- Collaborate with global resources to develop and maintain common platforms
- Actively participate in Codes and Standards development related to power electronic based circuit protection technology and product
- Performs and contributes to technical research and investigations
- Collaborates with teams from Corporate Research & Technology, Electrical Sector Center of Excellence, and external technology resources (National Labs and Universities) for technology and product innovation
- Generates value added intellectual property
Your Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years relevant hands-on experience developing power electronic switching device controls and embedded systems
- Minimum 5 years experience manager of people experience (direct leadership)
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering field (Electronics or Electrical Engineering) from an accredited institution
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong experience in leading a diverse team with global team members
- Experience in leveraging hardware in the loop technology in intelligent control algorithm development
- Experience with Real-time Operating systems
- Experience with embedded firmware in 8 bit through 32 bit microcontrollers (e.g. ARM Cortex, PIC)
- Experience with wireless communications systems, such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and CAN, and code sharing tools and multi-person development
- Knowledge of and experience with project tracking tools such as Jira and JAMA
- Demonstrated knowledge of engineering processes
- Experience with DFSS tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

The expected annual salary range for this role is $141000.03 - $206800.04 a year. This role is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
