As the Cloud Data Engineering Department Manager responsibilities include the following:
Set strategic direction for the Cloud Data Engineering team’s domain related to staffing, products, support, and services
Collaborate with Business and IT Leaders to drive out priorities for global data initiatives across multiple functional areas of the business spanning multiple programs and projects
Manage teams performing analysis, design, development, testing, and support of data acquisition, integration, and serving applications to deliver high quality data assets and services used across the company
Provide strategic communications and updates on Data Engineering initiatives to a broad business and IT audience
Gain executive support across multiple disciplines to ensure Data Engineering solutions satisfy a broad spectrum of company needs
Build, develop, and extend relationships across IT, to ensure the Data Engineering solutions align with the overall IT strategy and can be leveraged by other IT teams for maximum value
Work with the Cloud Enablement Team to negotiate vendor agreements for technology platforms and services agreements as required
Mentor and develop members of the Cloud Data Engineering Team to shape a world class Data Engineering organization
Required:
Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
8+ years of related IT experience
5+ years of success leading multiple teams within a large enterprise IT organization
Excellent analytical skills as proven through past success creating, implementing and executing transformational strategy
Proven leadership of large application development teams with experience in processing high transaction workloads of mission critical applications
Knowledge and familiarity with data engineering concepts and trends
Proven leadership, results orientation and self-motivation traits
Excellent relationship building skills within the executive landscape
Superb communication skills – both written and verbal designed to engage an audience across a broad range of technical expertise and/or business acumen
Ability to envision new technologies and solutions
High degree of collaboration skills; works well with others as it relates to generating ideas
Demonstrated ability to quickly comprehend a broad array of initiatives to direct Project Scope, Requirements Gathering and Change Management to meet changing Business and IT objectives
Past experience and high comfort level with presenting at the executive level
Strong skills and experience mentoring and developing IT professionals, to ensure the team’s success and enable the employees to achieve their career goals
Proficient knowledge of project management concepts, from planning and inception, through implementation and support
Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
