Overview

Under general direction, the Human Resource Generalist II role is accountable for supporting functional areas within the Human Resources department. This role supports and provides input to the development, implementation, and maintenance of organization-wide human resource procedures, policies, systems, and programs focused at improving NASCO’s human capital. This role is responsible for ensuring business need is considered when creating and implementing new HR policies, procedures, and programs as well as ensuring consistency and compliance with the execution of said initiatives. This role collaborates with associates and managers regarding the associate employment lifecycle in the areas of Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Learning & Development, and Performance Management from selection up to and potentially including termination. The person in this role relies somewhat on their knowledge of the HR discipline in order to advise and counsel managers and associates regarding these matters, though primarily consults with higher levels within HR department for guidance and direction. To be successful in this role, the individual must be knowledgeable in human resource policies, legal requirements, and internal policy/procedures communications as well as OD principals and practices.

Responsibilities

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Creates and monitors onboarding and offboarding processes and procedures
  • Conducts analysis for departments or divisions in order to understand the need and develop solutions to meet that need
  • Assists with leading focus groups to collect relevant data for HR initiatives
  • Maintains and monitors NASCO’s HR policies, procedures and/or programs such as employee relations, compliance policies, or learning programs/academies
  • Provides support, input, and impartiality to managers and associates throughout the performance management and employee lifecycle process
  • Reviews and approves associate and management requests via various systems
  • Manages various processes and systems that support the effective management of talent within the company
  • Assists the department in carrying out various human resources programs and procedures for all associates
  • Advises management to ensure effective and efficient application of NASCO human resource policies, procedures and certification requirements
  • Researches and makes recommendations to HR Management regarding new or existing HR initiatives such as learning, development, employee relations issues, talent acquisition process or other related topics
  • Collects, analyzes, and reports on relevant HR data from a variety of electronic HR systems to make recommendations to management
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Additional Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Periodically reviews and identifies updates to HR materials to ensure consistency of content and messages to human resource policies and practices
  • Participates in organizations that further the advancement and knowledge of Human resources in order to stay abreast of the latest trends in the area of HR and talent management such as TAG recruiting and SHRM
  • Schedules meetings with various stakeholders, including non-associates to support the talent management process
  • Coordinates on boarding of new hires, training and other HR related items and conducts new hire orientation
  • Manages and Maintains HR and candidate files ensuring all relevant information is included and that NASCO is compliant with current legal and regulatory standards

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience

  • Knowledge of Human Resources concepts, legislation, practices, and procedures
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and agencies
  • Ability to plan and organize conflicting priorities in order to effectively manage and accomplish work
  • Very strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to cater message to the audience/communicate to all levels of the organization
  • Minimum 3 years HR related experience in either talent acquisition, corporate recruiting, training & development, employee relations, performance management, or a combination of those disciplines
  • At least 2 years interfacing with management level associates supporting HR related needs.
  • Ability to ask probing questions with critical thinking skills in order to conduct needs analysis, job analysis, or other related initiatives
  • Ability to maintain high confidentiality at all times
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite with demonstrated expertise in Word, Excel and PowerPoint; PeopleSoft experience including query
  • Strong analytical, project management and process skills
  • Ability to work well independently, creatively, and use independent judgment

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, And Experience

  • Experience in HR for a healthcare, technology, or healthcare technology company

Required Education Or Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related discipline

Preferred Education Or Certification

  • PHR certification
  • Master’s degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, Organizational Behavior, or Human Resources

Working Conditions:

  • Well-lighted, heated and/or air conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation
  • Must be able to sit and use equipment at workstation for up to 8 hours daily
  • Location: Remote from Georgia
