Product Development Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer

My client is a leading, multi-site and fast growing, manufacturer of mechanical assemblies and systems for commercial equipment and is seeking a Product Development Engineer to lead design efforts from concept through production to support continued business growth.
In this hybrid role, you’ll collaborate with engineering, operations, and customers to create mechanical solutions that deliver long-term value in demanding field environments.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Design mechanical components and assemblies for new and existing products
- Conduct FEA, DFMEA, tolerance analysis, and material selection
- Create detailed 3D models and drawings using SolidWorks
- Collaborate with production and supply chain teams on manufacturability and cost optimization
- Participate in lab and field testing, design reviews, and continuous improvement efforts
- Develop technical documentation and support cross-functional projects
About You
- Be able to do the job as described
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering or related field required
- Ideally 5 or more years of design engineering experience with product development process and creation of engineering bills of materials
- Strong proficiency with SolidWorks and mechanical design fundamentals
- Ability to analyze and apply functional tolerances including using Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience using and interpreting structural FEA results
- Hands-on mechanical aptitude and an inquisitive personality with a passion for how things work
- Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-team collaboration
