Essential Functions:
• Collaborates with the CFO and Executive Leadership Team to define the organization’s short- and long-term IT goals and strategies.
• Develops a comprehensive IT roadmap that supports corporate objectives, including growth, operational efficiency, and competitive positioning.
• Sets the vision for future technology adoption, integrating innovations that enhance operational capabilities and long-term business success.
• Regularly updates executive leadership on IT progress, milestones, and strategic initiatives to ensure alignment with corporate goals.
• Reviews and approves IT project proposals, ensuring alignment with business priorities, feasibility, and return on investment (ROI).
• Anticipates the impact of emerging technologies and industry trends, and identifies opportunities to leverage technology to drive innovation, operational efficiency and profitability.
2. IT Operations Management
• Oversees the daily operations of the IT department, including IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and enterprise applications to ensure reliability, scalability, and security.
• Evaluates emerging technologies and recommends investments that align with the company’s strategic goals.
• Coordinates with department heads and key stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of technology systems across the organization.
• Develops and enforces IT governance frameworks that promote cybersecurity, data integrity, and operational continuity.
• Establishes processes for monitoring system performance, resolving technical issues, and minimizing downtime.
• Directs technology upgrades and ensures the smooth rollout of new software or hardware across the organization.
• Continuously reviews and improves IT processes to optimize system efficiency and adaptability to new challenges.
3. Financial Oversight and Compliance
• Manages IT budgets, ensuring cost-effective decisions and resource allocation for projects, technology investments, and staffing.
• Ensures appropriate segregation of duties is maintained through user and role security administration across all software and platforms.
• Oversees contracts and vendor relationships, ensuring optimal terms and services.
• Maintains compliance with relevant government regulations, ensuring that all IT operations meet necessary legal and regulatory requirements.
• Develops risk management strategies, including cybersecurity protocols, disaster recovery plans, and system backups to safeguard organizational assets.
• Regularly evaluates the financial performance of IT projects, identifying opportunities for cost savings or increased efficiency.
4. Team Leadership and Collaboration
• Leads and manages IT staff, including direct reports and department heads, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Provides mentorship and professional development opportunities to build a high-performing, innovative IT team.
• Establishes clear roles, responsibilities, and performance metrics for the IT team to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Communicates IT strategies, updates, and performance results to executive leadership and other key stakeholders.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT management or leadership, preferably in construction, engineering, or related industries, including experience as a CIO or similar senior role.
• Proven experience implementing technology solutions within the construction industry, including field operations, project management platforms, and jobsite connectivity.
• Track record of deploying software and hardware tools to optimize field productivity, safety, and project delivery.
Skills/Abilities:
• Strong skills in managing IT budgets, cost control, and conducting ROI assessments.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven leadership abilities, fostering a collaborative and innovative IT team.
• Experience leading digital transformation of construction workflows, from estimating and scheduling through field execution and project closeout.
• Demonstrated success in training and adoption of technology among field teams, ensuring practical usability and ROI.
• Able to develop and implement long-term IT strategies that align with the organization’s business goals.
• Able to implement and maintain IT governance standards to ensure legal and operational compliance.
• Ability to integrate field-collected data into ERP, CRM, and BI systems to drive real-time decision-making across projects.
• Strong understanding of jobsite connectivity challenges (e.g., remote networks, mobile device management, satellite/Wi-Fi solutions) and proven ability to deploy scalable solutions.
• Strong business acumen with a focus on innovation and growth through technology.
• Strong ability to work cross-functionally with executives, department heads, and external partners.
• Strong analytical abilities to troubleshoot IT issues, assess trends, and make data-driven decisions.
• Proven ability to negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships to ensure high-quality service and cost-effective solutions.
• Proficient in project management and delivering complex IT solutions.
• Proficient in implementing and managing cybersecurity tools (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM systems like Splunk), ensuring data protection and regulatory compliance.

• Skilled in evaluating and implementing field hardware (rugged tablets, IoT devices, wearables, drones, sensors) to improve efficiency, safety, and data capture in construction environments.
• Skilled in network infrastructure management (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls) and database management (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, NoSQL) for enterprise-wide data handling.
• In-depth understanding of data protection, cybersecurity, and IT-related regulatory compliance.
• In-depth understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies.
• Expertise in evaluating the feasibility of IT projects and ensuring alignment with business priorities.
• Expertise in managing ERP (e.g., SAP, Oracle), CRM (e.g., Salesforce), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) to support business operations and digital transformation initiatives.
• Expertise in construction technology platforms such as Procore, Viewpoint, Trimble, or equivalent jobsite/project management systems.
• Expertise in IT service management and project management tools to oversee IT operations, incident resolution, and team collaboration.
