Payroll Lead in CANADA

Pay: $50-68/hr incorp


Required Skills & Experience

  • Oracle Cloud HCM or Oracle Fusion implementation experience is a must
  • Subject Matter Expert in payroll and ability to communicate effectively to share this knowledge with the team
  • Possess at least 10 years of relevant and progressive payroll experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory/leadership experience
  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes
  • Formal payroll education from the National Payroll Institute (NPI) or equivalent experience (HRPA, CIPP, CPP)
  • Skilled in engaging with, anticipating and balancing the needs of multiple key stakeholders to ensure deliverables are represented
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities, with a track record of delivering results while meeting tight deadlines
  • Enjoy working as a team and collaborating with others to meet shared objectives while maintaining a high level of detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite especially with Excel


Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Senior Payroll Lead to support a large Canadian retailer with an Oracle Cloud HCM implementation. This is an initial 6 month, fully remote contract opportunity with a high possibility of extension. They will be a an essential resource that will be responsible for the following:


  • Providing leadership, planning, and direction to the payroll implementation team
  • Stakeholder requirement gathering, data validation, testing, data variance analysis
  • Oversee and manager process/reporting improvements
  • Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
  • Ensure compliance with provincial and federal payroll law taking into consideration how this impacts wages
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates
  • Identify and recommend updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures
  • Collaborate with the implementation partner and ensure the needs of the organization are met
