Position: Network Administrator
Location: Sterling, VA(Onsite)
Only 5 days contract role(Wednesday to Sunday)
Our client is relocating its office to a new location and requires a skilled Network Administrator to ensure a smooth transition of IT infrastructure. This is a short-term assignment focused on network setup, configuration, and troubleshooting during the move.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess current network infrastructure and prepare migration plan.
- Install, configure, and test network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, access points).
- Ensure proper cabling, connectivity, and internet setup at the new location.
- Coordinate with ISP/vendors for internet and network service readiness.
- Perform system and network checks to ensure all users are connected post-shift.
- Troubleshoot any connectivity or configuration issues during/after the move.
- Provide documentation of network setup and handover to client s internal IT team.
- Proven experience as a Network Administrator or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN configurations.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco/Juniper/HP switches and routers.
- Experience with firewall configuration and security best practices.
- Familiarity with structured cabling and network testing tools.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines during relocation.
