DevOps Engineer (outside IR35 Contract) – Remote
⏳ Duration: 6-month initial contract, with potential for extension
Tech Stack & Environment
You’ll be working with a modern, cloud-native stack that includes:
- Backend / Services: Node.js, TypeScript
- Database: PostgreSQL
- Infrastructure / Hosting / Edge: Cloudflare (Workers, DNS, CDN, etc.)
- CI/CD & Monitoring: GitHub Actions, logging, alerting, dashboards
- Cloud / DevOps Tools: AWS, GCP, Azure, or DigitalOcean
- Containerization & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes (or alternatives)
- Security: Access control, secrets management, best practices
- Testing: Automated testing, performance/load testing
What You’ll Do
As a DevOps Engineer, you’ll support our clients engineering team by:
- Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Automating infrastructure provisioning (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi)
- Managing PostgreSQL databases (migrations, backups, monitoring)
- Ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance
- Setting up monitoring, alerting, and observability tools
- Supporting safe and reliable feature integration
- Participating in incident response and post-mortems
- Implementing security best practices
What We’re Looking For
Must-Haves:
- Solid experience with Node.js and TypeScript
- Proficiency with PostgreSQL (queries, optimization, migrations)
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)
- Strong Git skills and understanding of branching/release workflows
- Basic knowledge of networking (DNS, firewalls, load balancing, caching)
- Interest or experience in observability (monitoring, logging, tracing)
- Ability to write clean, maintainable automation scripts
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with data integration (APIs, ETL pipelines)
- Familiarity with Cloudflare (Workers, CDN, caching rules)
- Containerization experience (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi)
- Knowledge of secrets management and security compliance
- Experience working in remote/distributed teams
