Head of Technology and Engineering (Remote-first, Global)

The Role
We’re looking for a hands-on Head of Technology and Engineering to own Radity’s technical direction and keep our engineering culture sharp. This role is equal parts architecture, coding, and leadership. You’ll dive into complex systems, guide technical design reviews, and still roll up your sleeves when needed — while also leading presales and shaping how we deliver for clients.
What You’ll Do
- Design and deliver scalable, secure cloud-native architectures for SaaS platforms, portals, and core insurance systems
- Stay hands-on: review code and architecture, contribute to prototypes, and set the bar for technical quality
- Lead presales efforts: RFP responses, technical pitches, solution designs, and estimates that win client trust
- Work with the CEO to turn product ideas into executable technical strategies
- Drive engineering standards: CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, automated testing, observability, and security practices
- Mentor and empower engineering leads while staying close enough to understand the challenges they face in the code
- Guide client migrations from legacy to modern cloud-native platforms
- Help recruit and grow top engineering talent worldwide
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years in software engineering and architecture, with a record of building real systems
- 5+ years in technical leadership — leading by example, not just by slides
- Strong background in architecture design, estimation, and technical solution selling
- Ability to connect technology decisions to business goals without losing sight of the technical details
- Proven track record with SaaS platforms, portals, or complex enterprise solutions
- Fluency in English and confidence in both technical deep dives and business conversations
- Solid understanding of software quality, technical debt control, and risk management
- Experience in insurance or another highly regulated/complex domain is a plus

- Startup or scale-up leadership experience
- Open-source contributions, technical talks, or blog posts that show your thinking
- Familiarity with compliance and security standards (SOC2, GDPR, OWASP)
