Aurora is an established supplier of skilled manpower to its Clients and we are now seeking for a L2 Maintenance Engineer with Cybersecurity focus.

Specific tasks
- Support AIV campaigns for the Galileo Ground Control Segment.
- Define, update, and maintain test documentation.
- Prepare and execute Non-Regression / System Validation Test Campaigns.
- Provide L2 maintenance support to OPS/L1 and L3 teams for Problem management, System restoration, Vulnerability management, Handling of security incidents.
- Monitor and maintain the cybersecurity status of ground systems, ensuring compliance with security baselines.
- Apply software patches, security updates, and hotfixes (with particular focus on cybersecurity).
- Perform vulnerability assessments, audits, and security reviews in cooperation with L2 and security teams.
- Support the design of integrated troubleshooting and maintenance environments for Galileo systems.
- Provide inputs to Service Asset and Configuration Management activities.
- Contribute to the release strategy for evolutions of the GCS infrastructure.
- Provide on-call maintenance support when required (including out-of-hours support for recovery of the Core of Trust).
- Support incident response and root cause analysis in case of cyber events.
- Collaborate closely with L2 engineers, system administrators, and cybersecurity specialists across multi-disciplinary teams.
Specific Qualification Requirements
- Engineering degree in Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Telecommunications, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in ground system operations, AIV campaigns, or L2 maintenance.
- Proven experience in system administration and cybersecurity operations.
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and security tools.
- Familiarity with network protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Hands-on experience with web-based applications, server hardware, and IT systems.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles and vulnerability management.
- Experience with problem reporting and tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, …).
- Advanced English proficiency (spoken and written).
- Willingness to learn basic Spanish if not already proficient.
Legal And Security Requirements
- All applicants must be legally allowed to work in Spain without the need to obtain a work visa. Only European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA) and SWISS citizens can be employed by Aurora in Spain.
- Applicants are required to provide a copy of their passport and degree certificate. Aurora will validate the Degree with the issuing University.
- In line with security requirements, prior to issuing a letter of employment the applicant shall provide to Aurora a recent official document declaring that they are of good conduct from the country where currently resident, and Aurora will validate your employment history.
Location
The work will be performed at the growing and recently inaugurated DLR second location in Madrid (Spain).
Contract
- The selected candidate will receive good remuneration.
- You will be registered for both social security and tax in Spain.
- The standard working hours are 40 per week. There are 12 public holidays and an additional 30 annual days holiday.
- In addition to public health services Aurora provides private medical insurance in Spain (the inclusion into the private health insurance policy is at the discretion of the insurance provider).

- Aurora can assist financially and provide recent experience information for relocation.
