Senior Developer / DevOps Engineer
Civil Engineering and VR field

About the Company and the opportunity:
Our client is a Japanese software development company providing package software and services to the Japan Civil Engineering field and the VR field worldwide. They are in their 38th year of operation and have the top share of sales in their field in Japan.
Both roles are is based in the south of Japan in Miyazaki. Miyazaki is renowned for its beautiful beaches, warm climate, and easy access to outdoor activities. The office provides a quiet and relaxing environment to focus on creating world class software. The ideal candidates are people already in Japan or willing to relocate to Japan. Work can be conducted in either English or Japanese. Non Japanese speakers would be expected to study Japanese.
Role specific details:
Role 1.
Senior Developer ( X2)
Package Software development group
· Two senior developers are sought to work on all aspects of the pre and post processing of a FEM analysis package Software.
· Friendly international team of 7
Essential Requirements:
· A computer science bachelors degree or higher from a recognised university.
· At least three years developing technical software using object orientated languages.
· Be able to translate user requirements into UI/UX specifications that are intuitive to users.
· Good teamwork skills.
The following skills would also be beneficial, but not essential.
· OpenGL graphics experience.
· Delphi experience. ( It is likely that you will be required to work with Delphi, so a willingness and ability to learn and transition to Delphi is desirable if you are not experienced with it yet)
· Fortran experience.
· Experience with source control systems.
· Advanced mathematics.
· Be able to create documentation using UML tools.
· Experience in geometrical processing and related algorithms.
· Development experience on Microsoft Windows.
· English & Japanese language proficiency.
Role 2.
DevOps (x1)
VR web system development group
· DevOps Engineer with 1 year or more of experience
· Work on CI/CD, testing, management of the service infrastructure and related projects
· Friendly international team of 18
Essential Requirements:
· A computer science bachelors degree or higher from a recognised university.
· At least one year working on DevOps tasks.
· Docker Experience.
· Good teamwork skills.
The following skills would also be beneficial, but not essential.
· Linux and Windows experience.
· AWS experience.
· Kubernetes experience.
· Docker Swarm experience.
· Node.js experience.
· Generic RDB/RDBMS experience.
· Experience with source control systems.
· Network/Firewall setup experience.
· English & Japanese language proficiency.
