Job Description:

Bp's customers & products (C&P) business area is setting up a business and technology centre (BTC) in Pune, India. This will support the delivery of an enhanced customer experience and drive innovation by building global capabilities at scale, demonstrating technology, and developing deep expertise. The BTC will be a core and connected part of our business, bringing together colleagues who report into their respective part of C&P, working together with other functions across bp. Mobility & Convenience Europe is a leading fuel and convenience retailer with a network of 6000 bp and Aral branded retail sites in eight European markets and a team of around 13,500 colleagues serving millions of customers every day. We are seeking for a Pricebook Analyst ensuring that pricebook is aligned with category roles and the price strategy at site level. The role is ensuring complete and error-free pricing at site level with a focus on category-specific insights, pricing, promotional mechanisms, and corresponding inventory management.
Key performance metrics:
- Standard gross margin per category
- Revenue and volumes per category,
- Analysis of Price elasticities and
- margin per unit.
Shift timing -12.00 PM to 9 PM IST
Key Responsibility -
- Consistent Pricebook incl. execution
Contribute to the development, monitoring, and adjustment of store pricing strategies. Make informed pricing decisions that align with business objectives and market dynamics.
Assess price change requests by analyzing impact on profit margins, current market conditions, cost of goods sold (COGs), and competitor pricing. Ensure pricing remains accurate and supports targets related to sales performance, gross margin, and strategic pricing principles.
- Inventory and Promotion Accuracy
Support the maintenance of accurate inventory records and pricing data. Ensure an in time and reliable implementation of promotional activities to maintain the consistency of product and pricing databases.
- Product Lifecycle Management
Oversee the introduction and discontinuation of products within the system, ensuring all article master data i.e. cost, purchase price, and selling price remain accurate and consistent.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
Close collaboration with category management to validate pricing and assortment parameters.
- System Enhancement and Testing
Assist in the design, testing, and implementation of system parameters to support in proper backlog prioritization and new promotional mechanisms and ensure their effective utilization.
- Demand Forecasting and Planning
Closely collaborate with category management ans supply chain in forecasting and planning demand at the SKU level to support inventory, sales optimization and reduction of waste.
Experience Required -
Delegations of Authority
Role includes delegated authority from line manager, with primary focus on making sales price decisions in alignment with the Business Unit (BU) plan.
Education
Candidates should possess one of the following educational backgrounds:
- Commercial training with a specialization in financial controlling and analysis
- Training as an Industrial Business Management Assistant (focus: sales & marketing)
Professional Experience
- A minimum of two years’ experience in the retail or marketing sector
- Commercial experience within a trading environment
- Exposure to category management (desirable)
- Advanced skills in MS Office, particularly Excel and Power BI
- Strong understanding of POS and BOS systems, along with working knowledge of SAP
- Familiarity with article master data, including mapping structures and hierarchical frameworks
Skills and Competencies
- Good understanding of industry landscape, market trends, customer behavior, competitive dynamics
- Strong Retail business acumen
- Analytical skills, with the ability to assess pricing elasticities and cross-selling effects
- Experience in integrated pricing strategies
- Competence in data collection and analysis, KPI identification, and performance reporting
- Effective communication skills
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work cross-functionally within the retail organization

Category Team, Supply Chain, Product Owner BOS/POS, Marketing Team, Finance
