Founding Engineer

Analogy Group builds cutting-edge AI political intelligence tools. We work with advocacy organizations, researchers, and companies working on the most important problems in the world—from climate to democracy to AI policy. We use LLMs to make sense of messy data, enabling these organizations to move faster with more informed strategy.

We are hiring a Founding Engineer to shape our technical architecture as we scale. You will design and build out our core product offerings, working in a high-growth startup environment with a (very) lean team of two co-founders.

Ideally, you have:

• A desire for mission-driven work in the political space
• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Experience with Python, PostgreSQL, and Next.JS/Typescript
• Experience building LLM products, and a thoughtful perspective on how to use them well
• A sense of taste (we care about clean, well-designed, and scalable software)

Bonus skills:

• Experience with Django and Celery (or other task managers)
• Experience with network data, vector databases, or computational social science
• Familiarity with the AWS ecosystem

We have a nuanced perspective on AI-assisted coding — we believe “vibe-coding” blindly often leads to messy, insecure code, but we still use tools like Cursor, Claude Code, etc. to improve code in targeted ways.

We offer a competitive salary ($120k to $170k) with benefits and meaningful equity (1% to 3%). We are fully remote and are open to candidates from anywhere in the world (with a preference for US time zone overlap).
